This city is the proud home of nationally recognized businesses, organizations, and universities. The World Affairs Council of St. Louis prides itself on providing quality events to engage the community in global affairs discussions, but we would also like to highlight the events held by other key members of the St. Louis community. Academic Events

University of Missouri – St. Louis

  • UMSL’s International Studies and Programs Department offers a wide range of events throughout the academic year covering topics from Irish Catholicism to Greek democracy to Dervish performances.

Washington University

  • WashU’s International and Area Studies Program provides thought provoking events on topics relevant to international affairs and how such affairs influence the United States.

Nonprofit Organization Events

International Institute

  • International Institute is the city’s leading resource for immigrants and refugees. It hold regular events to engage the community and advocate on behalf of the immigrant and refugee community.

St. Louis International Film Festival

  • The 28th St. Louis International Film Festival celebrates international cinema every November, exploring cinematic themes, trends, and ideas from around the world.
